Skillet Lickers ‘honored’ to be inducted into Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame

It’s just about time to add another major Hall of Fame to the Skillet Lickers’ repotoire. After being inducted into the Atlanta Music Hall of Fame and Georgia Music Hall of Fame, among others, the Skillet Lickers are officially headed to induction in the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina this Saturday night.

“This is a real honor for us to be recognized and to honor the legacy of Gid, Riley, and all of the other original band members who helped pave the way for Country music as we know it today and helped inspire and influence generations of Country music superstars,” Russ Tanner of the Skillet Lickers says.

The band is slated to be inducted alongside legends Mac Wiseman and the late Don Gibson, along with Laura Boosinger, Phil Jamison, and Larry Skipper, on Saturday, June 10th at a special induction ceremony at the Stone Center for Performing Arts in North Wilkesboro. The event begins at 6:30pm with a special dinner, followed by the ceremony at 7:15pm, which will include speeches from the honorees and live performances.

Tickets for the show are still available for $35 and can be purchased now at wilkesheritagemuseum.com or by calling 336-667-3171. For those who can’t be in attendance, you can follow along with the induction festivities in real-time by following the Skillet Lickers on Facebook and Instagram.
